Porsche unveils 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet

loading
Porsche has unveiled the 2014 911 Turbo S and Cabriolet ahead of their official debut at the 2013 LA Auto Show. These cars follow their fixed roof sibling which were unveiled in May and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic German sportscar.
Both cars use the same underpinnings and engine line up as their Coupe sibling but in the case of the convertible, it gets a new fabric roof with a magnesium frame. This roof can be opened in 13 seconds at speeds of up to 48kmph. Thanks to the magnesium frame, the roof is able to maintain the coupe like shape.
The Turbo cabriolet and the Turbo S cabriolet both make use of the famed Porsche 3.8-litre turbo charged six-cylinder engine that now produces 521PS in the standard car and 561PS in the Turbo S. This combination has given the car a 0-100kmph time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 312kmph.
While the Turbo has been priced at 160, 700 USD (Rs One Crore) the more powerful Turbo S costs 193, 900 (Rs 1.21 Crore) and this does not include a 950 USD (Rs 59, 000) destination charge. Deliveries are expected to take place early next year.
The Porsche India website has both cars already listed but no price as yet. We will update you as  soon as the price is out though much like the others cars in the Porsche range, you would need a significantly deep pockets to be able to buy one.

There is more chrome on the tailgate and the outside rear view mirrors have integrated turn indicators. On the side, the Innova Z variant has decals running across the length of the car. Inside the Z will get a touch-screen entertainment system along with a screen for the rear passengers.
The Z-variant will be available with both the petrol and diesel engine options but most likely only on the BS4 engines. Maruti Suzuki Swift XDi edition launched in Rajasthan for Rs 5.44 lakh

Crossroad
It is that time of the year when dealers get all competitive and start offering incredible deals on vehicles in a bid to take advantage of the festival season. One such offer that seems to have caught everyone’s attention is the Maruti Suzuki Swift XDi edition which has been introduced in the state of Rajasthan for Rs 5.44 lakh (on Road Jaipur). It is based on the LDi/ LXi and comprises an accessory pack with a large list of features.
External changes to the Swift XDi edition are full wheel caps, front fog lamps, OVRMs with integrated indicators and central locking with keyless entry. Inside, the dealers have fitted front power windows, door sill guards, rear parking sensors, double din music system, art leather seat covers and tilt adjust for the steering. Most of these features are available on the VXi/ VDi variants of the hatchback. All the accessories work out to about Rs 40, 000 over the price of the standard variant.
In terms of engines, the XDi edition remains the same as the standard car. The petrol is a 1.2-litre unit that produce 87PS and 114Nm of torque while the diesel is the 1.3-litre Multijet that produces 76PS and 190Nm of torque. Both engines have mated to a five-speed manual gearbox which sends power to the front wheels.
The dealers also seem to be offering an Rs 20, 000 exchange bonus or Rs 15, 000 loyalty bonus on the Swift XDi edition. It is likely that sales of the Swift hatchback have slowed down in Rajasthan and this is an effort by the Indo-Japanese automaker at the dealer level to boost sales.
This is the third such limited edition of the Swift hatchback in the last eight month with the previous one being the Swift RS edition.
Prices for the Maruti Suzuki Swift XDi edition (on Road Jaipur)
Maruti Suzuki Swift XDi edition petrol -Rs 5.44 lakh
Maruti Suzuki Swift XDi edition diesel -Rs 6.67 lakh
